Trouble Checks

Troubles sometimes are caused by simple "faults" that you can easily correct without
the help of a service technician. Before you call or take your camcorder to an
Authorized RCA Camcorder Servicenter, look below for the type of trouble you are
experiencing. Then perform the simple checks and adjustments listed for that trouble.

Checks and Adjustments
• If using the rechargeable battery, it may need
recharging.
• If using the AC adapter/charger, make sure it is
plugged into a working AC outlet.
• Make sure there is a cassette in the camcorder.
• Try ejecting and re-inserting the cassette.
• The cassette tape is broken — try another cassette.
• You have reached the end of the cassette — try
rewinding it.
• Moisture condensation may cause the tape to stick to
the headwheel and damage the headwheel or tape.
Give the camcorder 2 to 3 hours to reach a stable
temperature before re-inserting a cassette.
• CAMERA/OFF/VCR switch must be in VCR.
• Safety tab has been removed from cassette.
See page 16.
• CAMERA/OFF/VCR switch must be in CAMERA.
• Make sure the lens cap has been removed.
• Make sure titler graphics do not appear in viewfinder.
Press TITLER to remove them.
• The tape counter's memory-stop feature may be
turned on. When an "M" appears behind the tape-
counter display, the camcorder will stop rewinding or
fast-forwarding when the counter reads "0000M".
Press the REW/REVIEW or F.FWD button again to
continue, or press DISPLAY to turn off memory stop.
