Even if you use this electric power tool in
accordance with the instructions, certain
residual risks cannot be eliminated. The
following hazards may arise in connection
with the equipment's construction and
layout:
1. Lung damage if no suitable protective dust
mask is used.
2. Damage to hearing if no suitable ear
protection is applied.
3. Health damage caused by hand-arm
vibrations if the equipment is used over a
longer period or is not properly guided and
maintained.

5. Before starting the equipment

Warning!
Always remove the battery before making
adjustments to the tool.
Danger!
Do not fi t the battery until the tool has been fully
assembled.
When you want to carry out work on the tool
itself, always wear protective gloves and use the
supplied blade guards to protect yourself against
injury.
Before each use you must check that:
The safety devices and the cutting device are
in perfect condition and complete.
All screws are securely fastened.
All moving parts move smoothly.
5.1 Installing the shoulder strap (Fig. 3)
Attach the carabiner (Item 16) of the shoulder
strap (Item 3) to the holder (Item 4). Use the
shoulder strap adjuster to set the optimum
length. If necessary you can adjust the position
of the holder (Item 4) on the long handle. To do
so, loosen the wing nut (Fig. 2 / Item 24) on the
holder, move the holder and then re-tighten the
wing nut.
5.2 Installing the extension pole on the motor
unit (Fig. 9-12)
Note: It is possible to fi t all attachments either
with or without the extension pole (Fig. 2 / Item
11). This depends on the required working height.
Make sure that the mounting screws (Item 21) are
on the same side and insert the extension pole
(Item 11) into the tube of the motor unit (Item 10).
Screw the two tubes together with the assembly
nut (Item 6). The motor unit is now screwed to the
extension pole (Fig. 12). To dismantle, proceed in
reverse order.

Danger! Do not fi t the battery until the pole chain
saw has been fully assembled and the chain
tension has been set. To protect yourself against
injury, always wear protective gloves when
working on the pole chain saw. Use the chain saw
guard (Fig. 2 / Item 14).
