Before the First Use

Please read the operating instructions and the safety instructions carefully before using the device for the first time.

Keep the operating instructions together with the device for future use. If you pass on the device to a third party, this manual is part of the device and must be supplied with the device.

Intended Use

This unit is designed for use as photo and video lighting only. It must not be used for other purposes and in particular not for domestic room lighting.

Explanation of Symbols

The following symbols are used in this manual, on the LED light or on the packaging.

Products marked with this symbol comply with all relevant community regulations of the European Economic Area.

Products marked with this symbol are operated with direct current.

Safety Instructions

• Only connect the product if the mains voltage of the socket or the USB input corresponds to the information on the type plate on the back of the product.
• Do not use the product if it is visibly damaged or if the cable is defective.
• Use only the USB-C cable supplied.
• If the product or accessories are damaged, they must be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
• The housing must not be opened and repairs may only be carried out by a specialist. To do this, contact a specialist workshop. In the event of repairs by the user, improper connection or incorrect operation, all liability and warranty claims are excluded.
• Do not insert any objects into the product.
• Do not leave the product unattended during operation.
• Protect the product from moisture. Do not touch it with wet / damp hands or submerge it in water.
• This product is not waterproof! Do not use this product in the rain or in wet areas.
• Do not open, damage, short circuit, bypass, or use the battery for any other purpose.
• Keep the battery away from children and animals, open flames and liquids and do not expose it to temperatures higher than 50°C. In addition, observe the information on caring for the battery in these operating instructions.
• Do not use or store the device at high temperatures or in closed rooms with direct sunlight and do not charge the battery during this time. The product should no longer be used at ambient temperatures of more than 50°C.
• Do not use the device in the vicinity of flammable gases or liquids, as this can lead to explosions.
• Do not point the product at drivers of cars, buses, bicycles, motorcyclists, or train drivers while driving. The driver can be blinded and cause an accident. This also applies to persons or groups not listed if an accident could be caused by possible glare.
• Do not point the product directly into the eyes of people or animals, as this can damage the retina, impair vision and even lead to blindness.
• The device is not a toy. Keep the device, accessories and packaging materials away from children and animals to prevent accidents and suffocation.
• Provide adequate ventilation during operation.
  Never cover the device.
• If you sell the product to someone else, give up also pass these operating instructions on to this person.

Note:
For lighting for photographic purposes only. Not suitable for permanent room lighting.

Battery Warnings

• Do not disassemble, hit or puncture the battery, be careful not to short-circuit the battery.
  Do not expose the battery to places with high temperatures. Do not continue to use the battery if it leaks or expands.
• Always charge through the system. If the battery is replaced with the wrong type, there is a risk of explosion.
• Keep the battery away from children and animals.
• Batteries can explode if exposed to an open fire.
  Never throw batteries into a fire.
• Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
• Before disposing of the appliance, remove the battery and dispose of it separately.

Precautions

• Fully charge the battery, then disconnect the USB cable.
• If the product has not been used for a long period of time, charge the battery before using it again.
• To extend the battery life, you should charge the battery at least every three months.
• This product has a built-in, rechargeable battery that has a specific run time. If this has been used for a certain period of time, the performance of the battery will be reduced. This is normal.
• If the device is used in too cold or too hot ambient temperatures, the device switches off automatically.
• Please have the product checked by an authorized service center if a problem occurs. You are not permitted to dismantle the product if it malfunctions. Otherwise your guarantee will be void.

Operation

Charging

• Connect the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color to the USB-C cable and this to a suitable power adapter and power source.
• While the battery is charging, the battery charging LED [6] lights up red. When the battery is fully charged, the battery charging LED [6] lights up green.

Notes:

• No quickchargers and/or superchargers may be used to charge the Rollei LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color, only power adapters with a maximum of DC 5.0 V / 1.0 A.
• Please use only the USB-C cable included in the package to charge the device. Otherwise, there is a danger of fire or electric shock.

Mounting via Magnetic Backside for Smartphones With Integrated Magnets

• Bring the magnetic backside [5] of the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color together with the magnetic backside of your smartphone until they stick together.
  

Mounting via Metal Ring for Smartphones Without Integrated Magnets

• Clean the surface of the back of your smartphone.
  
• Remove the protective film on the adhesive surface [10] of the metal ring.
  
• Place the adhesive surface [10] of the metal ring at the desired position on the back of your smartphone.
  
• Bring the magnetic backside [5] of the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color together with the metal ring until they stick together.
  

Mounting via Suction Cup Clamp

• Clean the surface of the backside of the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color.
• Press the suction cups [9] of the suction cup clamp to the back of the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color until they adhere.
  
• Press the clamp brackets [8] of the suction cup clamp apart and attach them to your smartphone.
  

Switch On / Switch Off

• Press the on/off/brightness button [3] for a few seconds to switch the LUMIS Magnetic Smartphone Light Bi-Color on or off.

Set Brightness

• Press the on/off/brightness button [3] briefly to set the desired brightness in 3 different brightness levels.

Set Color Temperature

• Press the color temperature plus and color temperature minus buttons [2/1] briefly to set the desired color temperature from 2,500 – 8,500 K in 7 different color temperature levels.

• Press and hold the color temperature plus and color temperature minus buttons [2/1] to set the color temperature steplessly from 2,500 – 8,500 K.
