    Should the slightest irregularity be suspected, do not use this instrument and see Chapter 6, “Troubleshooting”. If the irregularity is still suspected after consulting Chapter 6, contact Olympus. Damage or irregularity may compromise patient or user safety and may result in more severe equipment damage.

    If you find that any of the connections are not completely secure, stop operation immediately and contact Olympus. Confirm that the horizontal arm, the balance arm and the microscope body are securely connected to the stand (see Figure 3.2).

    If the OCS-500 becomes soiled, perform the following cleaning procedures immediately after use. If cleaning is delayed, organic debris will solidify and it may be difficult to effectively clean the OCS-500. The instrument should also be cleaned routinely. Wipe the equipment using a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with 70% ethyl or isopropyl alcohol to remove dust, dirt, etc.
