WA22651C, WA22655C, WA22657C WARNING! Risk of injury to the patient and/or user Use only HF-resection electrodes from Olympus. These are produced using special manufacturing processes. There is a risk of injury to the patient and/or user when using other electrodes.
4.1 Preparation Attach the telescope • Insert a compatible telescope through the telescope channel of the working element. • Make sure that the connector pin clicks securely into position. Select the resection electrode • Select a compatible resection electrode. CAUTION! Risk of damaging the instrument When attaching the electrode, make sure not to push it too forcefully into the working element.
Page 28
Attach the resection electrode • Introduce the electrode’s proximal end into the distal opening of the working element’s electrode guiding tube. • Advance the electrode into the working element until it comes to a stop. Make sure that the telescope is guided through the electrode’s stabilizing tube.
Page 29
Check position of electrode • Make sure the distance between the electrode’s noninsulated distal tip and the telescope is at least 2 mm. • If the distance is not at least 2 mm, replace the electrode. Insert the sheath • Insert a compatible sheath into the urethra/the canal of the cervix.
Page 30
WARNING! Risk of electric shock Do not press the foot switch of the HF unit while connecting the HF cable to the working element. Connect the HF cable • Connect the HF cable’s right angle plug to the working element’s respective HF connector. •...
NOTE! When using the products listed below, make sure to follow these instructions*: When using the cable in combination with the HF unit PK/SP, the HF unit automatically recognizes the product and automatically applies appropriate settings. Check the display and make sure that the correct setting PK/ TURis appears on the display.

Risk of death or serious injury Improper use of HF current can cause endogenous or exogenous burns, and explosions. Thoroughly review the HF current safety information included in the Olympus Endoscopy System Guide. WARNING! Risk of injury to the patient and/or user Do not activate the electrode release button when operating the instrument.

10 seconds. There must be an interval of 30 seconds between each output. Otherwise, the HF generator may be damaged. Procedure for active working element WA22366A In the neutral position, the working element’s spring advances the electrode’s cutting loop out of the sheath.
Page 34
Procedure for passive working element WA22367A • Push the working element’s thumb ring in distal direction towards the handle. The electrode’s cutting loop moves out of the sheath. • Through the force of the working element’s spring, the electrode is then moved back into its neutral position, performing the resection.
