• For a very low cutting height, set the
anti-scalp wheels in the highest position
on the bracket.
5. Secure with original hardware.
IMPORTANT: All anti-scalp wheels MUST be
set to the same height.

ADJUST DECK LIFT PEDAL
See Figure 56.
1. Place steering levers in neutral position
and engage parking brake.
2. Stop engine, remove key and wait for
moving parts to stop and for hot parts to
cool.
3. Remove hardware securing deck lift
pedal to deck lift arm.
4. Place pedal in desired position.
5. Reinstall hardware and torque to 71 N•m
– 95 N•m (52 lb-ft – 70 lb-ft).

ADJUST DECK LIFT ASSIST
See Figure 57.
The deck lift assist springs may be adjusted
to modify deck lift assist and deck stability.
Increased spring tension leads to easier deck
lifting, but also decreases deck stability.
1. Loosen jam nuts on anchor bolts.
2. Adjust spring anchors equally on each
side of deck.
• Turn spring anchors counterclockwise
to decrease lift assist and increase
deck stability.
• Turn spring anchors clockwise to
increase lift assist and decrease deck
stability.
IMPORTANT: Excessive spring tension
increases the potential for deck to lift and
bounce over rough terrain and affect cut
quality.
3. Measure distances between spring
anchors and trunnions to ensure they are
equal. Readjust spring tension if
necessary.
IMPORTANT: Lift assist springs MUST be
adjusted equally.
4. Tighten jam nuts against spring anchors.
