Data Insert Unit with 2 Bi-directional Data Channels for a
Dual Redundant Singlemode Fibre Ring
The AMG3703B2-DR-SF is a standalone data insert unit designed to transmit and receive 2 bi-
directional data channels to/from a dual redundant singlemode optical fibre ring. One data channel is a
multi-drop RS-485 link, the second data channel is effectivly a point to point RS-232 link.
The AMG3703B2-DR-SF is designed to be powered using an AMG2003 standalone power supply.
The AMG3703B2-DR-SF is designed to operate with an AMG3708BN-DR-SF or rackmount
equivalent AMG3708BRN-DR-SF data receive unit. The receive unit will 'drop off' one RS-485 multi-
drop channel plus eight individual RS-232 data channels which are being transmitted around the fibre
ring from up to eight data insert units.
