The AMG3788ERN-DR-1550-HP is a rackmount eight channel video receive unit designed to receive
up to eight video signals from one or more AMG3787E-1-DR-1550-HP single channel transmitters on
a dual optical fibre ring with Dual Redundant operation. It also provides up to sixteen bi-directional
data channels via a low speed data interface, plus full duplex 100Mbit/s Ethernet connectivity around
the ring.
It is designed to plug into an AMG2000 or an AMG2005 subrack which in turn fits into a 19" rack
system. It also includes an AMG Network Management Interface to allow management of the system
using the AMG SNMP enabled management software.
The AMG3788ERN-DR-1550-HP is designed to operate with the AMG3787E-1-DR-1550-HP,
AMG3787E-2-DR-1550-HP, AMG3787E-4-DR-1550-HP and AMG3787E-8-DR-1550-HP, single
channel, dual channel, four channel and eight channel video insert units respectively or their
rackmount equivalents.
Each receiver will 'drop off' up to eight video channels which are being transmitted around the dual
fibre ring from up to eight single channel insert units.

Because the maximum optical output power level (+5dBm) of the AMG3787E-1-DR-1550-HP and AMG3788ERN-DR-1550-HP, is higher than the maximum optical input power level (0dBm), there should always be at least +5dB of optical attenuation between two units, in order to prevent an overload of the optical inputs.
