GENErAL DESCrIPTION
The VANTAGE 400 is a diesel engine powered DC
®
multi-process welding power source and 120 / 240 volt
AC power generator. The engine drives a generator
that supplies three phase power for the DC welding cir-
cuit, single phase and Three Phase power for the AC
auxiliary outlets. The DC welding control system uses
state of the art Chopper Technology (CT ™ ) for superior
welding performance.
The VANTAGE 400 is fitted with a selectable
®
VRD(Voltage Reduction Device). The VRD operates in
the CC-Stick mode reducing the OCV to <13 volts,
increasing operator safety when welding is performed
in environments with increased hazard of electric
shock.
