21.4 Range/route planning

Several factors determine how long or far you can ride your pedelec before the battery
charge gets completely used up, including:
- which support level is set.
- the speed at which you are riding the pedelec.
- your riding style.
- the tyre type and current tyre pressure.
- the surface conditions along the selected route.
- the weather conditions.
- the total weight of the pedelec, cyclist and baggage.
- the condition and age of the battery.
• Gradually familiarise yourself with your pedelec away from any roads and heavy traffic.
• Test the maximum range of your pedelec under a variety of external conditions and
make careful calculations before planning longer trips. You cannot precisely determine
the exact range of your pedelec either before or during a trip.

21.5 Storage and operating temperatures

• When storing your pedelec, observe the operating and storage temperatures of the
e-drive components. Do not store your pedelec in direct sunlight with the battery
inserted, as extreme temperatures may damage the battery and even cause it to
explode.
