Safety

Warning indications
Where applicable, the following warning indications are used in this
manual in connection with safety:

This product should only be installed and maintained by
qualified personnel who have read and understood the in-
structions and precautions in this manual . Failure to follow
the instructions in this manual may result in serious injury or
property damage . The manufacturer shall not be liable for any
damages resulting from improper installation or maintenance
by unqualified personnel .

Introduction

This manual provides guidelines for connecting a VETUS BOWPRO
(A and B) bow thruster or RIMDRIVE to the Yamaha Helm Master® EX
boat control system.
The quality of the installation determines the correct functioning of
the system. Almost all faults that emerge can be traced back to errors
or inaccuracies during installation. It is therefore of utmost impor-
tance to fully follow and check the points mentioned in the installa-
tion instructions during installation.
Unauthorised modifications exclude the factory's liability for any
resulting damage .

Never work on the electrical system while the system is
energised .

Installation

Consult the relevant manuals from VETUS and Yamaha for the instal-
lation of the complete system.
3 .1

Coupling VETUS-Yamaha

Refer to the installation diagram on page 14
1. Connect the Yamaha section of the installation up to and includ-
ing the "Thruster driver".
2. Insert a hub (2) in the VETUS CAN-bus system.
3. Connect VETUS hub (2) to Yamaha's "Thruster driver" using the
supplied cable CANVM12A (7).

The VETUS and Yamaha systems are now connected. For operation,
refer to the relevant VETUS and/or Yamaha manual.
3 .2 Check thrust direction bow thruster
The direction of movement of the boat should match the di-
rection of movement of the joystick(s) . You must check this!
Do this carefully and in a safe location .
• If the movement of the boat is opposite to the direction in which
the joystick is moved, this must be corrected as indicated in the
relevant VETUS manual.
