6-4) If defrost does not operate (F/R DEF Heater)

• If defrost has trouble, select the self-diagnostic function to detect the error of defrost heater before Power Off.
(Check the function with the self-diagnostic function.)

R-DEF : CN70 "5"(WHT) ↔ CN70 "1" (BLK) measuring resistance
value(132 ohm ± 7%)
F-DEF : CN70 "3"(BLU) ↔ CN70 "1" (BLK) measuring resistance
value(63 ohm + 8%)
** 0Ω: Short trouble / ∞Ω: Open(bimetal, heater) trouble

R-DEF : CN51 - "12" ↔ "13" measuring resistance value
F-DEF : CN51 - "5" ↔ "7" measuring resistance value
** 0Ω : Short trouble /Ω∞ : Open trouble
Resistance value of sensor according to temperature
86℉(30℃) 4.22kΩ
68℉(20℃) 6.05kΩ
50℉(10℃) 8.87kΩ
32℉(0℃) 13.29kΩ
14℃ (-10℉) 20.42kΩ
-4℉-20℃) 32.23kΩ
-22℉(-30℃) 52.41kΩ
Recheck the applicable sensor.
Reference
If defrost sensor temperatures of fresh food
and freezer compartments are higher than
50℉(10℃), 53.6℉(12℃) by the heating from
heater, heating would be finished and will
return to cooling operation after a pause.
☞ Checking method of F DEF Heater resistance value
F-DEF : CN70 "3"(BLU) ↔ CN70 "1" (BLK)
R-DEF : CN70 "5"(WHT) ↔ CN70 "1" (BLK)
- Recheck if resistance values are different after the test
