  • Page 4 Front Panel LEDs Power/Link Speed/Link/Act State Status No Power/No Link After bootup, the LED indicates power. After an initial link is established, the LED indicates a Power/ 10/100 Mbps connection. If the link Link Amber terminates, the LED turns off until a link is re-established.

    AC ground of the power supply. We recommend that you protect your networks from harmful outdoor environments and destructive ESD events with industrial-grade, shielded Ethernet cable from Ubiquiti Networks. For more details, visit www.ubnt.com/toughcable IMPORTANT: Although the cabling can be located outdoors, the EdgeSwitch itself should be housed inside a protective enclosure.

    Hardware Installation 1. Remove the faceplate from the EdgeSwitch by lifting up the bottom portion of the faceplate. 2. Connect the Power Cord to the Power port of each EdgeSwitch.
  • Page 7 3. Attach the EdgeSwitch 16XP to the rack using the four Phillips Screws. (If the rack has square slots, then use the Cage Nuts with the Phillips Screws.) 4. Attach the top portion of the faceplate at a slight angle, and then snap on the bottom portion.
  • Page 8 5. Connect the other end of each Power Cord to a power outlet. Daisy-Chain (Optional) All data ports are available as uplink ports. If you want to daisy-chain EdgeSwitch A and B, we recommend that you connect an Ethernet cable from port 8 of EdgeSwitch A to port 1 of EdgeSwitch B.

    Configuring PoE Settings WARNING: Before activating PoE, ensure that the connected device supports passive PoE and the supplied voltage. By default, PoE is off on each port. 1. Click the Ports tab. 2. On the Ports tab, select the Ethernet port you want to configure.
