    The device touch screen guides you through the dispensing process and various actions when you touch certain areas of the screen. For example, touching the Dispense button tells spencer that you are ready to receive your current medications.     3. Remove the spencer SmartHub from its case and place it on the chosen surface. 4. Plug in the device. The spencer SmartHub will automatically turn on. (You do not need to use the power button to turn on the device.) An introduction screen displays.

    Dispense Screens 1. Normal Dispense Screen The Home screen changes when it is time to dispense your medications. spencer reminds you to take your medications during the normal dispense time. 2. Escalated Dispense Screen An orange screen displays when the dispense time has almost passed.

    Many times an error screen may be resolved by removing and then re-inserting the refill into the spencer SmartHub. To remove the refill, follow these instructions: Touch the Remove Refill button to open the lid. 2. Remove the refill box completely out of the device. 3.     Home > Tools > Settings > Child Lock The spencer device has an optional Child Lock feature that requires users to establish a four-digit code. When the Child Lock feature is enabled, you must enter the Child Lock code to perform most functions on spencer.

    When the Child Lock feature is enabled, you will be asked to enter the Child Lock code to complete most actions in spencer. To turn off the Child Lock feature, you must enter the Child Lock code that you set previously.

    To change your Child Lock code, follow these instructions: Navigate to the Home screen and touch the Tools icon. spencer will request your current four-digit Child Lock code. 2. Enter your four-digit Child Lock code. 3. On the Tools screen, touch the Settings button.

    Open Lid button first, remove the refill, close the lid, then touch the Shut Down button. As a last resort, you can shut down spencer using the Power button in the back of the device. To do so, press the Power button located on the back of the unit for at least five seconds until the lid opens. The device will shut down.

    Normal Medication Dispensing When the dispense time arrives, spencer wakes up and winks to tell you it is time for you to dispense and take your medications. The Dispense button flashes and an alert sounds. To dispense your medication, follow these instructions: Touch the Dispense button to dispense your medication.

    Your pharmacist or care team will determine the length of time you have to dispense your medication before spencer determines that you are getting close to missing your dispense time. The time range can be anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours.
