SURROUND

You can add natural width and depth to the stereo sound.
Press [SURROUND].
Every time you press the button:
SURROUND 1: Natural effect
SURROUND 2: Enhanced effect
SURROUND OFF: Cancel (factory preset)
• This does not work or has less effect with some discs.
• Turn off if it causes distortion.
• Do not use in combination with surround effects on other equipment.
• You cannot change SURROUND during recording.

Changing sound field and quality

Preset EQ
Press [SOUND].
Every time you press the button:
HEAVY : Adds punch to rock (factory preset)
CLEAR : Clarifies higher sounds
SOFT : For background music
VOCAL : Adds gloss to vocal
FLAT : EQ off

Press and hold [SOUND].
"BASS" and "TREBLE" appear on the display.

Press [SOUND] to select a setting.

Press [e] or [r] while either "BASS" or "TREBLE"
is flashing to change the level (–4 to +4) and press
[LIST/ENTER].
• You cannot change SOUND (Sound field and quality) during recording.

Muting the volume

Press [MUTING].
Volume is reduced to minimum.
To cancel
Press [MUTING] again or reduce the volume to minimum, then raise it to
the required level.
Muting is also canceled when you switch the unit to standby.
