Super Surround
Press [SUPER SURROUND] on the main unit.
Every time you press the button:
MUSIC:
Adds surround effects to stereo sources.
MOVIE:
Use this mode when playing movie software.
PARTY:
Sound is in stereo regardless of the direction you
are facing.
Off:
Cancel.

You can adjust the volume of the surround speakers to get
the best surround effect (➡ right).
•
Super Surround does not work when playing a DVD recorded
with 5.1 channel.
When Super Surround is on, Dolby Pro Logic II turns off.

Super Sound Equalizer
Turning on the super sound equalizer gives you a more powerful
sound.
Press [SUPER SOUND EQ] on the main unit.
The "S.SOUND EQ" indicator lights.
Every time you press the button:

Press [SUPER SOUND EQ] to turn off the indicator.
Subwoofer level

Speaker level adjustments
This is one of the ways to get appropriate surround effects.
Preparation:
Press [DVD/CD q] and then [g, STOP].
Using test signals
During stop and no on-screen display is shown

Press and hold [CH SELECT, -TEST] to output a
test signal.
TEST L : Front Left
TEST C : Center
TEST R : Front right
TEST RS : Right surround
TEST LS : Left surround
• There is no output from SW (subwoofer) channel.

Press [VOLUME, +, –] to set the volume level
normally used for listening.

Press [e] (increase) or [r] (decrease) to adjust
the speaker level for each speaker.
C, RS, LS: –6 dB to +6 dB
(L, R: Only the balance is adjustable.)
• To adjust the balance of the front speakers
While outputting the test signal, press [w, q].
• Adjust the speaker level to the same level as the front
speakers.
•
To stop the test signal
Press and hold [CH SELECT, -TEST] again or [g, STOP]
(main unit: [g, STOP]).
Adjust speaker level during play
Effective when playing multi-channel audio or Dolby Pro Logic II
or Super Surround is on.

SW: Subwoofer
•
You can adjust SW only if the disc includes a subwoofer
channel.
•
"SW" does not appear on the display and is not adjustable
when Dolby Pro Logic II is turned on.
•
"S" appears on the display when "MUSIC" or "MOVIE" is
selected with Super Surround (➡ left). In this case, you
can adjust both surround speaker levels at the same time
using [e, r].
S : –6 dB to +6 dB
