– Turn off the ignition.
– Remove the driver side trim panel. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior;
Rep. Gr. 68 ; Storage Compartments and Covers; Lower
Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover, Removing and Installing .
– Disconnect the connector to the brake lamp switch or brake
light switch.
– Remove the brake lamp switch. Refer to
⇒ "14.3 Brake Light Switch (Old Generation)", page 124
⇒ "14.4 Brake Light Switch (New Generation)", page 125
or
– Remove the brake light switch. Refer to
⇒ "14.4 Brake Light Switch (New Generation)", page 125
⇒ "14.4 Brake Light Switch (New Generation)", page 125
– Separate the brake pedal from the brake booster. Refer to
⇒ "14.5 Brake Pedal and Brake Booster, Separating and Con‐
necting", page 127 .
– Pry the brake booster push rod mount -6- out of the brake
pedal using a suitable tool.
