8. Cleaning
During cleaning, always ensure that the mains cable is kept well away from water. Otherwise there is a
risk of an electric shock and the appliance could be damaged.
To ensure problem-free operation, the air cooler must be cleaned regularly. Tap water can contain impurities
or dissolved solid particles which can be deposited on the inner wall of the water reservoir. This can lead to
the development of bacteria or algae. It is recommended that the appliance should be cleaned regularly
when you live in an area where the tap water is of poor quality. If you detect a high level of impurities or an
unpleasant odour, then the appliance must be cleaned more often.
Please note: Never use abrasive cleaning materials to clean the air cooler.
The following instructions should be followed to clean the air cooler.
1. Unplug the mains plug from the power socket.
2. Remove the filter and rinse it under running water.
3. Empty the water reservoir, remove the rear wall and clean the reservoir with a mild detergent. Rinse with
clear water.
4. To remove dirt or limescale, add approx. 200 ml of undiluted clear vinegar to the cleaning water. Clean the
reservoir with a light brush or a sponge.
5. Do not use alcohol to clean the housing, a mild detergent must be used instead.
9. Storage
1. Clean and dry the air cooler carefully in accordance with the cleaning instructions.
2. Check that all components are dry.
Ensure that there is no moisture remaining in the interior as this can lead to the build-up of bacteria.
Depending on the time of year and in the case of ambient conditions with a high level of air humidity:
We recommend switching off the COOL switch and using the air cooler as a normal electrical fan.
When the appliance is in use ...
Warning: If the appliance is filled with water or ice blocks:
•
Moisture under the appliance.
See the schematic diagram on Page 4. To maintain a cool flow of
air, you can place ice blocks or water in the water reservoir. Con-
densation droplets can form on the outer wall of the appliance.
These occur due to a higher ambient temperature with a high
relative air humidity. If water forms under the appliance, this is not
caused by a defect or leakage of the appliance. Wipe the appliance
from time to time with a dry cloth or place it on a flat tray.
Warning: If too much water is formed, the tray can overflow.

10. Care Instructions
The housing of the appliance is manufactured from ABS material. Unplug the mains plug from the power
socket if an abnormal situation occurs.
•
Empty the water reservoir regularly and dry the appliance in a well aired
room. The appliance can be emptied in a bathroom or other suitable
location. Beforehand, unplug the mains plug from the power socket.
•
If the mains cable is damaged, to avoid any risk, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, an authorised repair service or by another authorised
and appropriately qualified person.
•
After the appliance has been emptied, always ensure that the interior
is completely dry. To speed up the drying process, the appliance can be
switched on and the speed set to "HIGH". It will then take one hour until
the appliance is dry.
•
If there is an unpleasant odour or the air flow is weak::
The odour can be caused by impurities which have been deposited on
the rear side of the filter. Remove the filter by pulling it upwards and
then dry it.
•
Care of the outside of the appliance:
Wipe the appliance with a soft cloth. Any dirt adhering to the appliance
should be removed using a neutral detergent.
•
If the battery is empty, it should be replaced with a new battery and the
old battery should be disposed of in the correct manner.
•
If the appliance no longer functions, it must not be disposed of with the
household waste, but must instead be disposed of in accordance with
the regulations.
Before storing the appliance away for a longer period of time:
•
The appliance must not be immersed in water. Otherwise this could damage the appliance or it could
lead to an electric shock if the circuit board or other electrical components become wet. It should only be
wiped down with a damp cloth.
•
The use of chemical products, such as evaporating liquids or bleach can damage the plastic housing.
•
If the appliance is not fully dry when it is stored away, then this will provide an environment for bacteria to
develop in the interior of the appliance.
11. Troubleshooting
Problem: The air cooler is not discharging cool air.
Solution: Fill the water reservoir with water. If the water is too warm, you can place ice in the reservoir.
Problem: The airflow is too weak.
Solution: Check whether any dirt has accumulated on the rear side of the filter. Please refer to the care
instructions for cleaning the filter.Problem: The appliance does not switch on.
Solution: Check whether the mains plug is plugged into the power socket. If the appliance has been
switched off by the timer, switch the appliance back on via the On/Off switch.
Problem: If any other abnormal situation arises.
Solution: Immediately unplug the mains plug from the power socket and have the appliance checked by a
suitably qualified professional.
