Recommended cleaning process:
1. Optional in case of heavy soiling: Pre-clean the tools in a cold cleaner bath. Remove
dissolved dirt with a brush
2. Clean the tools in an ultrasonic bath or in a washing machine with a cleaning agent
suitable for aluminium or steel. Remove dissolved dirt with a brush
3. Rinse the tools in an anticorrosive emulsion; remove any loose dirt residue with a
brush

4. Disassemble the tools as described in chapter 8 „Mounting and handling". Clean and
dry all construction parts.
5. Protect the construction parts against corrosion with a maintenance oil and re-assemble
the tools. Apply copper grease to the screw threads to ease the opening. Tighten the
screws with the given torque (see chapter 8).
Note: Medium-hard plastic brush for aluminium, brass brush for steel

Before inserting the cutting edges and installing the tool on the machine ensure that all
contact surfaces are clean and free of grease.
6.2
Cleaning and maintenance of the tool adaptor
The tool contact surfaces of the tool adaptor with the machine spindle (e.g. cone,
bore, end face) must be clean and must not show any corrosion or damage for perfect
concentricity and operation of the tool.
Recommended working steps:
1. Remove any dust / chips on the contact surfaces.
2. Coarse dirt can be carefully removed with a cleaning fleece.
3. Finish cleaning of the contact surfaces with a soft cloth and a maintenance oil.
Hand contact of fitting surfaces can cause corrosion.
Wear safety gloves!
Risk of injury due to sharp cutting edges!
Wear ear protection!
Wear eye protection!
