To Select The Ex terna l Input M ode
To record external audio and video signals;
Press the remote control's N U M BER key "0".

Press AV/ S SELECT on the front of the recorder to select the appropriate external input mode.

● Pressing AV/ S SELECT rotates the input mode as follows:
W hen using rear panel input connectors:

W hen using front panel input connectors:

N O TES:
● To record input signals from the AV2 IN/DECODER connector, set "AV2 SELECT to "AV2" (see below).
● Connections made to the front panel Video and Audio inputs automatically override the rear panel AUDIO/VIDEO input
connection. If you wish to edit with another machine connected to the rear input connector, make sure that there is nothing
connected to the front connectors.
● Use the L connector for monaural connection.
AV2 SELECT Setting
Press M EN U twice to access the Main Menu screen.

Press PU SH JO G %fi to move the highlight bar (pointer) to "MODE SET", then press O K .

Press PU SH JO G %fi to move the highlight bar (pointer) to "AV2 SELECT".

a– AV2
b– DECODER : To use a decoder connected to the AV2 IN/DECODER connector.
Press M EN U to return to normal screen.

● If you have a decoder, be sure to set "AV2 SELECT" back to "DECODER" after editing.
● If you're not using a decoder, leave "AV2 SELECT" set to "AV2".
● The default setting is "AV2"; if the recorder's memory backup has expired due to a power cut or because the AC was
removed from the recorder, "AV2" will be automatically selected when the power is restored to the recorder. If you are using
a decoder, be sure to set "AV2 SELECT" back to "DECODER".
