Is the USB hub recognized correctly?
o
Make sure the USB hub is recognized correctly on
the computer. If the computer correctly detects the
USB hub, disconnect all USB hubs from the
computer and connect the printer directly to the
computer USB port. Ask the USB hub manufacturer
about USB hub operation.
You cannot print under the network
environment.
Are the network settings correct?
o
Ask your network administrator for the network
settings.
Connect the printer directly to the
o
computer using a USB cable, and then try to
print.
If you are able to print via USB, there is a problem
with network settings. Ask your system
administrator, or refer to the manual for your
network system. If you cannot print via USB, see the
appropriate section in this User's Guide.
Problem Solver
Are you using a wired LAN connection with
o
a device that supports IEEE802.3az (Power
Saving Ethernet)?
When using a wired LAN connection with a device
that supports IEEE802.3az (Energy Efficient Ethernet,
Power Saving Ethernet), the connection may
become unstable, connection may not be possible,
or the communication speed may be slow.
Follow the steps below to disable IEEE802.3az on
your computer and printer before connecting.
(1) Disconnect the LAN cables from the computer
and the printer.
(2) Disable IEEE802.3az if it is enabled on your
computer.
(3) Connect the computer and printer directly with a
LAN cable.
(4) On the printer, check the printer's IP address in
Menu - General Settings - Network Settings -
Connection Check.
(5) On the computer, start Web Config.
Open a web browser, and then enter the printer's IP
address.
(6) Select Network Settings - Ethernet.
(7) Set IEEE 802.3az to Off.
(8) Click Next.
(9) Click Settings.
(10) Disconnect the LAN cable that connects to
computer to the printer.
(11) Enable IEEE802.3az on your computer if you
disabled it in step 2.
(12) Connect the LAN cables you disconnected in
step 1 to the computer and printer.
If this problem continues to occur after following
the steps above, it may be being caused by a device
other than the printer.
The printer has an error.
