If your computer has multiple IP addresses,
pick the one that is used for the network
HotSync operation. If you're not sure which
address to use, check with your System
Administrator.
Subnet Mask
Identifies a particular part of the network on
which the Primary computer resides. By
entering your computer's Subnet Mask value,
you can reduce the amount of time required
to locate the Primary computer during a
network HotSync operation. The Subnet
Mask is automatically transferred from your
computer to your Palm III organizer when
you perform a local HotSync operation.
To display your computer's Subnet Mask address in Windows 95:
1. Select Run from the Windows 95 Start menu. to open the
Run dialog.
2. Type WINIcomputerFG and then click OK to open the IP
Configuration dialog.
3. Write down the address that appears in the Subnet Mask
field.
4. Click the OK button to close the dialog.
To display your computer's Subnet Mask address in
Windows NT 4.0:
1. Select Programs and then Command Prompt from the
Windows NT Start menu to open the Command Prompt
window.
2. Type IcomputerONFIG at the command prompt to display
the IP Configuration information.
3. Write down the address that appears in the Subnet Mask
field.
4. Type EXIT and press return to close the Command Prompt
window.
