Before first use

Thoroughly clean the parts that will come in contact with food before you use the appliance for the first time (see "Cleaning").

Preset cooking mode

  1. Add ingredients to the blender jar.

  8. Remove the blender lid.

warning Notes:

  • The appliance is intended for use at altitudes <2000m, if you are using this appliance in area higher than 1000m, make sure to reduce the ingredient quantity in the recipe to prevent ingredient overflow.
  • To avoid accidents, do not add ingredients to the blender jar while it is working.
  • When making fruit and vegetable drinks, de-core the fruit/vegetables and add the appropriate amount of drinking water or milk.
  • Do not restart the appliance if it stops when making multigrain milk (or congee), or if the appliance has finished processing. This may cause the cooked ingredients to burn or damage the heating plate and other components. If the appliance stops working or has finished processing, remove the ingredients from the blender jar before reusing.

Use the heating function

  1. Follow step 1 to 4 in "Preset cooking mode" to prepare your blender.
  2. Press thebutton. (Step 5)
  3. Press button to start heating.
    • The blender starts to heat the ingredients to 100°C.
    • After boiling, the LED display will show the remaining time (minute).
    • The temperature of the ingredients is shown on LED display during heating.

warning Note: Food is occasionally blended during heating. Do not use the appliance to heat sticky liquid like milk, multigrain milk or cool congee. Otherwise, it will cause the ingredients to burn or produce unpleasant smell.

Use the pulse function

  1. Follow step 1 to 4 in "Preset cooking mode" to prepare your blender.
  2. Press and hold the button to start processing until getting the result desired.
    • The blender starts blending at a very high speed.
  3. Release thebutton to stop processing.
  4. Unplug the appliance.

Resume an interrupted operation (Safety protection)

The blender has a safety protection system.
If the lid is unlocked during processing, operation is interrupted and "E01" error code will be shown on display.
To resume processing,

  1. Place and lock the blender jar and lid properly.
    • · "- - - -" will be shown on display.
  2. Press "Start/Cancel" button.
    • · The appliance resumes processing.

Manual blending mode

  1. Add ingredients to the blender jar.

  7. Press button to start blending.
    • The blender starts processing.

    • When blending is completed, you will hear five beeps. "End" is shown on the LED display.
  8. Unplug the appliance and remove the blender jar from the motor base after blending.

  10. Pour out the blended ingredients/soup from the blender jar carefully.

Suggested recipe

  1. Shred cooked chicken meat (30 gram) into strips.
  2. Mix the chicken meat with cooked and peeled potato pieces (600 gram).
  3. Add water or milk (180 to 200 gram) to the mixture and mix them well.
  4. Put the mixture into the glass jar.
  5. Use a spatula to press the mixture down the jar.
  6. Use manual blending mode of the appliance (10 seconds at Speed "H") to blend the mixture.

  1. Pour in washing-up liquid and warm water (no more than half of maximum capacity).

warningNote:

  • Do not soak the blender jar in water to avoid damaging the electronic devices at the bottom.
  • Do not use any metallic or sharp-edged utensils on the blade unit to avoid scratching on the surface.
  • Do not use metal wool or brush to wash the blade unit to avoid scratching.
  • Use only soft cloth when cleaning the motor unit and blade unit.
  • Do not put the blender jar into the dishwasher.
  • Do not rinse the motor base or the bottom of blender jar.

Cleaning

Tip:

  • Use soft cloth to clean the heating element after using. This can ensure the best and consistent cooking performance.
  • Do not use sharp-edged tools to remove the burnt ingredients from the blender jar. To clean the jar in this case, add warm water to the jar and keep it for two hours and then use brush to remove the residue.
  • For better result, soak ingredients for a few hours before cooking with multigrain milk or grain congee program.

Read this important information carefully before you use the appliance and save it for future reference.

  • Do not misuse the appliance to avoid potential injury.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household only.
  • Do not touch the sharp blades when the appliance is plugged in. If the blades get stuck, unplug the appliance before you remove the ingredients. Be careful when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying the bowl and during cleaning.
  • Switch off and unplug the appliance from the power supply before:
    • Removing it from the stand, changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.
    • Assembling, disassembling or cleaning it.
    • It is left unattended.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord, housing, lid or blender jar are damaged or has visible cracks. If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  • Make sure the lid is properly assembled to the blender jar before you use the appliance.
  • This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  • Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
  • Be careful if hot liquid is poured into the blender jar as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.
  • Never assemble or disassemble the blender jar to the motor base while the power is on.
  • Read the cleaning procedure from "User Manual" before use.
  • Be careful that the heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.

  • Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or that Philips does not specifically recommend. If you use such accessories or parts, your guarantee becomes invalid. Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
  • Do not exceed the maximum indication on the blender jar.
  • Do not exceed the maximum quantities and processing times indicated in the relevant table.
  • If food sticks to the wall of the blender jar, switch off the appliance and unplug it. Then use a spatula to remove the food from the wall.
  • Never fill the blender jar with ingredients hotter than ambient temperature. Avoid to pour cold water into the blade unit and blender jar immediately after use. Wait until it has been fully cooled.
  • The appliance can only be switched on if the blender jar is assembled on the motor base correctly.
  • Do not touch the heating element and blade after use. Let it cool down for approx. 30 minutes before cleaning or disassembly.
  • Surfaces are liable to get hot during use.
  • Avoid spillage on the connector.

Cooking

  • Do not overfill the blender jar, boiling water may be ejected.
  • Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
  • Beware the appliance releases steam which can cause burns. Handle the exhaust lid and blender lid carefully.

  • Let the appliance cool down to room temperature before use.
  • Clean up the blade unit and blender jar after use.
  • Always make sure the lid is properly closed/assembled on the jar in the lid before you switch on the appliance.
  • The appliance is intended for use at altitudes <2000 m.

Blending

  • Never reach into the blender jar with your fingers or an object while the appliance is running.
  • If the blade unit gets stuck, unplug the appliance before you remove the ingredients that block the blades.

  • To prevent spillage, do not put liquid beyond the maximum level in the blender jar, especially when you process at a high speed. Do not put liquid beyond the maximum level in the blender jar when you process hot liquids or ingredients that tend to foam.
  • Do not let the appliance run for more than 3 minutes at a time. Let the appliance cool down to room temperature before you continue processing.
  • Always make sure the lid is properly closed/assembled on the jar and the exhaust lid is assembled properly before you switch on the appliance.
  • Let the appliance cool down before next use.

Built-in safety lock

This feature ensures that you can only switch on the appliance if the blender jar is assembled on the motor base properly. If the blender jar is correctly assembled, the built-in safety lock will be unlocked. E01 (error message) will be shown on display if the lid is not locked in place.

Safety Feature

This blender is fitted with a safety feature which safeguards against excessive loads. In case of overloading, the blender automatically activates the protection and operation will stop. If this occurs, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down for 15 minutes. Remove the ingredients and clear up the blender jar before starting operation.

Boil-dry protection

This appliance is equipped with boil-dry protection:
It switches off automatically if you accidentally switch it on with no or not enough liquid in it. Let the appliance cool down for 15 minutes and unplug it. The appliance is ready for use again.

Electromagnetic fields (EMF)

This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Recycling

Do not throw away the product with the normal household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment.
