Condition
Note validator does not power up
Note validator has power, but it does not accept a note
When the unit is ready and enabled, bezel LEDs continuously flash.
If the bezel LEDs are off, the unit has an error.
To determine the error:
Partially insert and hold a note in the note path
Count the bezel light flashes.
Refer to the chart below for conditions and recovery steps.

Recovery Steps
No power
Restore power to the note validator or host machine.
1. Check for jams.

2. Remove the note magazine and lower housing assembly from the note validator and

Recovery Steps
1. Check harnesses.
– Cables may be loose or not properly connected.
– Pins may be bent.
2. Check the source voltage.
3. Ensure power is supplied to the note validator.

2. Then check:
– The VMC.
– The coin manager and coin levels. Having low coin levels can cause the machine
to disable the note validator.
– Inventory levels.
– That the host machine door is properly locked.
