10. Install the protective cover (78) on
the chip case. To do so, carry out
the following steps:
– Insert the protective cover (79)
on the left, push on the right and
turn the screw (78) clockwise by
90°: the protective cover is in-
stalled.

Aligning the riving knife

Note:
The riving knife has already been
aligned to the saw blade in the factory.
However, it is still necessary to check
the distance from the riving knife to the
saw blade and if necessary align the
knife at regular intervals.
To align the riving knife:
1. Lower the saw blade all the way.
2. Remove the protective cover (81)
from the chip case. To do so, carry
out the following steps:
– Turn the screw (80) anti-clock-
wise by 90°: The protective cover
(81) loosens. Pull the protective
cover to the right, then remove it
by pulling it downwards and
store.

Adjusting the distance to the saw
blade:
The distance between the saw blade's
outer edge and the riving knife shall be
between 3 and 8 mm.
The riving knife must project over the
saw table at least as far as the saw
blade does.

1. Loosen the Keps nut (82) on the riv-
ing knife carrier one full turn.
2. Adjust the distance from the riving
knife to the saw blade.
3. Adapt the riving knife height to the
saw blade.

Note:
When tightening the Keps nut make sure
the two lugs (83) on the counterpart of
the riving knife carrier are running in the
track of the riving knife carrier.
4. Tighten the Keps nut.
After aligning the saw blade lift to the
desired height again and install the pro-
tective cover on the chip case.

Greasing the saw blade
height adjuster
1. Turn the twist lever (85) all the way
to the left, hold and lift to the highest
position.
2. Grease the sliding surfaces of the
height adjuster (84) and raise and
lower the saw blade several times to
distribute the grease uniformly over
the sliding surfaces.

Saw storage

A
Danger!
Store saw so that
– it cannot be started by unauthor-
ised persons and
– nobody can get injured.

Caution!
Do not store saw unprotected out-
doors or in damp environment.

Maintenance

Before switching ON
– Carry out a visual inspection to de-
termine whether the distance be-
tween the saw blade and the riving
knife is 3 to 8 mm.
– Carry out a visual inspection to de-
termine whether the saw blade is
lined up with the riving knife.
– Check to ensure the power cable
and plug are undamaged. Have de-
fective parts replaced by an electri-
cian.
After switching OFF
Check whether the saw blade keeps
running for more than 10 seconds after
switch-off. If so, contact a certified ga-
rage!
Daily
– Check to ensure the emergency off
switch (86) functions properly. Do
not use the tool if the emergency off
switch is defective. Have a defective
