• Stop the machine, remove the plug from the socket and make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop:
- whenever you are not operating the machine,
- before clearing blockages or unclogging the chute,
- before checking, cleaning or working on the machine.
• Do not tilt the machine while it is in operation.

Maintenance and storage

• When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection, or storage, or to change an accessory, turn off the machine, disconnect it from the power supply and
make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop. Allow the machine to cool before making any inspections, adjustments, etc. Maintain the
machine with care and keep it clean.
• Store the machine in a dry place out of the reach of children.
• Always allow the machine to cool before storing it.
• When servicing the shredding part be aware that, even though the power source is switched off due to the interlock feature of the guard, the shredding part
can still move.
• Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure safety. Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories.
• Never attempt to override the interlocked feature of the guard.
• If a bag attachment is provided, make sure to switch off the machine before attaching or removing it.
Service
• Have the machine serviced by a qualified service technician using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the machine is
maintained.
• If the power cord is damaged, do not use the machine. The cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons.
• If the carbon brushes need to be replaced, have this done by a qualified repair technician (keep in mind that brushes must be replaced in pairs).
• Switch off the power tool and disconnect it from the power supply if it is believed to be damaged. Afterwards, assign the power tool's repair to a qualified
service professional.
Recommendation
• The machine should be supplied via a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA.
Reduction of noise and vibration emissions
To reduce the impact of noise and vibration emission, limit the time of operation, use low-vibration and low noise operating modes as well as wear personal
protective equipment. Take the following points into account to minimise the vibration and noise exposure risks:
• Only use the product as intended.
• Ensure that the product is in good condition and well maintained.
• Use correct attachments for the product and ensure they are in good condition.
• Keep a tight grip on the handles and/or gripping surfaces.
• Maintain this product in accordance with these instructions and keep it well lubricated (where appropriate).
• Do not use the power tool for long periods of time. Take frequent breaks.
Residual risks
Even when operating the machine as intended and in accordance with the instructions that this manual contains, the following residual risks still remain:
• Health issues resulting from prolonged exposure to the power tool's vibrations. An example of such a health issue includes ''whitefinger'' disease. In order to
reduce the risk of developing ''whitefinger'' disease, please wear gloves, keep your hands warm and take frequent breaks. If any of ''whitefinger'' symptoms
appear, seek medical advice immediately. ''Whitefinger'' symptoms include: numbness, loss of feeling, tingling, pricking, pain, loss of strength, changes in
skin colour or condition. These symptoms normally appear in the fingers, hands or wrists. The risk increases at low temperatures.
• Injuries and damage to property due to broken cutting attachments or due to sudden impact of hidden hard objects.
• Injury and property damage caused by flying objects.
Additional safety instructions for the electric shredder
• Only use the machine as intended.
• Maintain the labels and nameplates on the machine in good condition. If they become worn or are unreadable, have them replaced.
• Always wear safety glasses, hearing protection and protective gloves during operation.
• Longer material standing out from the shredder could be ejected out when being pulled in by the blades.
• Ensure the ventilation holes are not obstructed.
• Touch the moving parts only if the machine is turned off and disconnected from the power supply.
• Do not use the machine outdoors in rainy weather, especially when there is a risk of lightning.
