XIII. Using the Display Pad
The fully functional Display Pad will perform any func-
tions that are assigned an IR code in the
Configuration. When a function or numeric button is
pushed and held, that function will display but only as
feedback. If the button is pushed with a single tap, you
will see three red arcs indicating the IR command has
been issued.
The source button scrolls through the available source
names as it is pushed. The Power button turns the
zone on and off locally when it is given a single tap.
When the Power button is pushed and held for 3 sec-
onds, all zones turned on will turn off simultaneously.
An additional feature of Concerto is the ability to
power on the system's source equipment. When the
Power On and Off commands for the source equipment
are included in that IR Library, the power codes are
automatically added to a macro under the Display
Pad's power button. When the first zone in the system
is turned on, all the subsequent source power com-
mands will be sent to the appropriate equipment. The
Power Off command will be issued when the last zone
in the system is turned off.
Note that some equipment uses the same IR command
to "toggle" between On and Off. The Concerto has
Source Status Inputs for use with this type of equip-
ment. Several electronic parts manufacturers offer a
power-sensing module for this use. These typically
attach to the AC power cord for the source equipment
and plug into the power-sensing input on the Concerto.
This allows the Concerto to sense when the source is
powered on and in turn will not fire a "toggling" power
command that would inadvertently turn the equipment
off.
IX. Changing the Display Pad Insert and
Cover Plate
The Display pads are shipped with white, ivory, and
almond inner bezels and screwless cover plates. These
are easily changed to best match the room's décor.
