CAUTIONS
Incorrect use of batteries may result in
such hazards as leakage and bursting.
Observe the following precautions.
¶ Never use new and old batteries together.
¶ Insert the plus and minus sides of the batteries prop-
erly according to the marks in the battery compartment.
¶ Batteries with the same shape may have different
voltages. Do not use different batteries together.

Operating range of remote control unit
¶ The remote control unit may not work if there is an
obstacle between the remote control unit and this unit,
or if the remote control unit is not directed towards the
remote sensor of the main unit at the correct angle.
¶ The remote control unit may not work properly if strong
light such as direct sunlight or fluorescent light is shin-
ing onto the main unit's remote sensor.
¶ The remote control unit may not work properly when
this unit is used near devices emitting infrared rays, or
when remote control units of other devices which use
infrared rays are used.
On the other hand, the use of this remote control unit
may cause other devices to work improperly.
¶ When the operating range of this remote control unit
becomes too short, replace the batteries.

Remote Control Unit
By connecting a control cord (optional), other PIONEER
products can be operated using this remote control unit.
Point the remote control unit towards the remote sensor
of this unit and operate.
The remote control signals are received by the remote
sensor of this unit, and sent to the other devices via the
CONTROL OUT terminal. By reading other manufactur-
ers' preset codes or memorizing (learning) the remote
control signals of other equipment in this remote control
unit, other manufacturers' equipment can also be oper-
ated using this remote control unit.
When a control cord is connected to the receiver's CON-
TROL IN terminal, direct control of the receiver with the
remote control unit is not possible. Operate the receiver
with the remote control unit by aiming it at the connected
equipment's remote sensor.
