¶ The delay time is set so as to provide virtual equalization of the distance
between the listening position and the rear speakers, and the distance
between the listening position and the front speakers. The default setting
is 20 ms, which is designed for a situation in which the distance from the
listening position to the rear speakers is about 5 feet (1.5m) closer than
the distance to the front speakers (in other words, the perceived distance

will be some 5 feet (1.5 m) farther away than the actual distance). A set-
ting of 5 ms corresponds to a distance of about 5 feet (1.5 m).
¶ The delay time setting can be used only in conjunction with the Dolby Pro
Logic mode.
