Press “0” to accept no changes. If you are not sure whether or not to accept changes, press “0” to not accept changes. The system will then go into standard operation. During standard operation, the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller will display the current date and time.
Should a new unacknowledged ALARM, TROUBLE, or SECURE event occur while in the data entry mode, the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller will automatically revert to the “Operator Mode” so that the new event may be processed. After the event has been processed and the ACK LED is no longer illuminated, the data entry mode can be re-entered by pressing any active key on the external keyboard.
If the ESC key is pressed enough times it will completely back out of the Field Programmable mode, and into the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller normal operation. It is, therefore, a valid alternative to pressing F1 when the operator wishes to exit the Field Programmable mode.
NETWORK CONTROLLER INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUAL 4.2. EXTERNAL KEYBOARD MENU SELECTIONS Data for alarm points can be changed in the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller via the external keyboard. In the data entry mode, the operator may ADD, CHANGE, or DELETE information based on options supplied with, or added to, the system.

6.3.11. SERIAL OUTPUT FROM THE SYSTEM 3500 NETWORK CONTROLLER Data on the alarms into the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller can be sent out over a two- wire serial data link. One such use is Computer Aided Dispatch. The output is based on standard data output format with a selection of preset BAUD rates from 150 to 9600.
Contact the factory for details on the Network Receiver. The DCX scanner can be controlled with a single SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller via two data links or two SYSTEM 3500 Network Controllers with a single data link per SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller to the scanner.
Failure of one or more XR’s will not break communication. Up to 16 XR cards are installed in each scanner. Scanners are communications controllers located at the telephone exchange. If the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller has already recognized and read the XR card, when the thermal printer prints the Derived Channel details the second line will read: XR= 1XXXXXXX XXXXXXXX where 1= Installed and X=Not Installed.
The System reports each downed link as it occurs. The system will operate normally if one link is down. However, if both links are down, the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller sends a third message alerting the operator that the system is totally down.
It is recommended that the supervisor select ‘2’ to verify that all Global Settings are correct. If Global Settings are correct there is no action required. If the Global Settings have never been set, or if they must be changed, select ‘2’. 7 - 4 DIGITIZE, INC. 700232-A 02/00 Specifications Subject to Change Without Notice...
Channel B to the scanner. When using two Systems, one System can communicate to the scanner on Channel A and the other System can communicate via Channel B. The ‘extra’ channel on each System is then used to communicate to the other SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller. This is the ‘Cross Unit’ feature.

Pressing the ADD STU key will add the STU to EEPROM memory in the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller only. In order to make the STU operational, the operator must press the UP STU programmable key. Or, press the UP STU key via the Derived Channel Programmable keys.
7.5 DERIVED CHANNEL PROGRAMMABLE KEYS (FIGURE 7-1) The Derived Channel Network Option utilizes the factory programmable keys located on the bottom of the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller display. Refer to Figure 7-1for a listing of all Derived Channel programmable keys.
START POLL sends a query to the scanner to update the status of all STUs (one every 20 seconds) until all STUs have reported. This allows the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller to verify that it’s database matches that of the scanner.
Page 58
LOAD SIM provides scanner with information about which STU is connected to a given STU card. LIST STU DISP permits the operator to list the STU connected to the SYSTEM 3500 Network Controller. The STU can be accessed by the STU #, the HID # or the telephone number.
