SETTING COM FUNCTION
The AEX-800 Series Serial Port is configured by default as RS232, but can be configured for RS422
(4-wire) or RS485 (2-wire) operation if so desired. Port configuration is managed through the BIOS; see
the below table for instructions on changing COM port mode.
BIOS COM Configuration
1. Enter the BIOS Setup Utility
by pressing [Delete] key
during POST.
The Main menu containing
the system summary
information will appear.
2. Set COM1 communication
mode as follows:
• Advanced Tab
• F81216SEC Super IO
Configuration
• Serial Port 1 Configuration
• UART1 Mode Selection:
o RS-232
o RS-485
o RS-422
