TROUBLESHOOTING

• The engine stop function does not operate.
• The engine start function does not operate.
• The Stop and Start System indicator light fails to come on.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Battery cover
2. Leg shield assembly bolt (left & right)
3. Handlebar cover (front)
4. Seat/storage compartment
5. Fuel tank cover
6. Rear side cover assembly
1. Check the fuses.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES"
on base manual page no. 7-95.

2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
base manual page no. 7-96.

3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on base manual page
no. 7-92.

4. Check the Stop and Start System
switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on base manual page
no. 7-92.

5. Check the entire starting system
wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM (For
disc)" on page 5-15.
OK
Check the condition of each of the
Stop and Start System circuits. Refer
to "Checking the Stop and Start Sys-
tem".

Replace the fuse(s).
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
Replace the main switch.
The Stop and Start System switch is faulty.
Replace the right handlebar switch.
Properly connect or replace the wire har-
ness.
