Stage 2: If the filter is not replaced, the filter icon will blink after 26 weeks or
739 gallons (2800 liters) of water.
See Section 032-4.1 for replacement instructions.
Filter replacement can be confirmed by the customer (see Section 032-4.1) or
in service programming mode (see Section 030-4.2).
If the appliance is connected to a home water supply, the use of an external
filter can be programmed in service programming mode. See Section 030-
4.2. If an external filter is used, a bypass cartridge must be inserted in place
of the appliance's water filter. Contact Miele to purchase a bypass cartridge.
3 Fault Repair
3.1

Icemaker Self-Test

Before replacing the icemaker, perform this self-test. If the icemaker is
displaying any error codes (LED flashes) before starting the self-test, note the
error codes and refer to Table 032-1 for diagnosis and action.
Otherwise, proceed to the self-test below.
1. Check that the:
 appliance is in normal operating mode
 icemaker is enabled ("ice" icon is yellow)
 freezer door switch is taped down (door is "closed"/light is off)
 refrigerator door switch is not taped down (door is "open"/light is on)
catch bin is properly inserted (not pressing on the button below the

icemaker)
2. Press the ice icon to disable the icemaker ("ice" icon is white).
3. Tape the refrigerator door switch in the "door closed" position.
4. Press the on/off button to switch the appliance off.
5. Wait 10 seconds.
6. Press the on/off button to switch the appliance on.
7. "Open" the refrigerator door (un-tape the door switch).
8. Press the thermometer icon.
9. Press the ice icon to enable the icemaker, within 70 seconds of switching
the appliance on ("ice" is now yellow).
10. Wait exactly 5 seconds.
11. Press the ice button again to disable the icemaker ("ice" is white).
12. "Close" the refrigerator door again (re-tape the door switch).
Note:
The freezer door switch must be taped down during the entire test procedure.
The icemaker LED will start flashing at a rate of one flash per second to
indicate that the icemaker is in self-test mode. After approximately one
minute, the ice tray will start to rotate (icemaker LED stops flashing). Once
