- - ENGINE
PREPARATION:
(a) Remove the glove compartment door.
(b) Disconnect the E5 (Hilux), E6 (Land Cruiser/Land Cruiser
Prado) or E16 (4Runner) connector of the engine ECU.
HI NT:
Fuel temperature sensor connector is disconnected.
(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHE CK:
Read the temperature value on the hand--held tester.
OK:
Temperature value: - -40˚C (- -40˚F)
OK Repair or replace harness or connector.
PREPARATION:
(a) Remove the glove compartment door.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
CHE CK:
Measure the voltage between terminals THF and E2 of the en-
gine ECU connecter.
OK:
Fuel Temp.
70˚C (68˚F) (Engine is cool)
80˚C (176˚F) (Engine is hot)
