    Sending a fax Press to change to Fax mode. Set the document as follows: When setting the document in the ADF 1. Set the document in the ADF face up. 2. Adjust the document guides. Note: The number of the pages you can set in the ADF at one time is 50 sheets.

  • Page 4 Broadcast Press to change to Fax mode. Set the document. (See page 2.) Adjust the resolution and the contrast, if necessary. Press [Broadcas]. Enter the fax number. You can use the numeric keypad, one-touch keys, speed-dial numbers, group numbers and Tel index.
  • Page 5 Transmission Enter fax number. Group Clear Broadcas To add additional fax numbers, repeat steps 3 and 4. Press START Note If you want to erase the fax number you've already entered, select it using the cursor key after pressing [Broadcas]. Then press [Clear].

    Canceling commands Press JOB REVIEW & COMM. CANCEL. If your machine is attempting to perform a command, it will appear on the display. Skip to step 4. Select "Reserved Transmission" using the cursor key and press [Enter]. Select the command you want to cancel using the cursor key.

    Basic copy Copy Press to change to Copy mode. COPY Set the document as follows: When setting the document in the ADF 1. Set the document in the ADF face up. 2. Adjust the document guides. Note: The number of the pages you can set in the ADF at one time is 50 sheets.
  • Page 9 Copy Ready 100% Paper Zoom Sort Select the recording paper and set the advanced copy features, if necessary. Enter the number of copies using the numeric keypad. Press START Note Any time you press , the machine resets the display to the initial screen and RESET press again to return the machine to its initial condition.

    Reduce/Enlarge copy Copy Set the document. (See page 8.) If you want enlarged copies, use the FBS glass. a. Auto Reduce / Enlarge Press to select "Auto". REDUCE/ENLARGE Press [Paper] and select the paper size using the cursor key.

    Using the bypass tray Copy Set the document. Place a sheet of paper face down on the bypass tray. Aline the paper guides to the sheet's edges and insert it until it comes to a stop. Press [Ppr.size]. When select the standard paper size Select the desired paper size using the cursor key.
  • Page 15 When select the non standard paper size Press [Other]. Select the desired paper size using the cursor key. Then press [Enter]. Press START Note If you want to use the other type of papers than the plain paper, press [Ppr.Type] after step 4.

    Duplex copy Copy 2-sided documents -> 1-sided copies 2-sided documents -> 2-sided copies* Two facing pages -> 2-sided copies* Press COPY Set the document. Adjust the document type and the contrast, if necessary. Press MENU. Select "DuplexCopy" using the cursor key. Then press [Enter].

    Clearing Just case If the ADF cover is blinking on the LCD Document jam Open & Check the blinking cover. Remove the original document from the machine by turning the green dial right. If you cannot remove the original document, proceed to step 3. Open the inner cover and remove the document by turning the green dial right.
  • Page 19 Lift the document tray and remove the document. Close the inner cover and the ADF cover, making sure both sides are snapped down securely. If this LCD appears, you can continue scanning from the jammed page. If you want to continue, press [Yes]. If you press [No], only scanned pages will be transmitted or copied.
  • Page 20 If the platen cover is blinking on the LCD Open the ADF cover by holding the ADF cover release. Remove the original document from the machine by turning the green dial right or left. If you cannot see the paper under the platen cover, remove the paper from the ADF as shown on pages 32-33.

    Clearing Just case CAUTION The fuser unit becomes very hot. Do not touch the fuser unit when you are removing a paper jam. IMPORTANT Never touch the electrical contacts inside the printer cover and under the drum cartridge, as an electrostatic discharge may damage the machine.
  • Page 23 Remove the jammed paper. Close the printer cover. Open the side cover. Turn the green dial to remove the jammed paper. Cassette Remove the jammed paper. Close the side cover. Pull the cassette toward you and remove the paper in the cassette. Reset the papers and close the cassette.
  • Page 24 When paper is jammed in the bypass tray Open the printer cover by holding the printer cover release ( When paper is jammed in the optional duplex unit Open the duplex unit cover. Remove the jammed paper. Remove the jammed paper. Close the printer cover.
