Product Description
The Multi-Tech MultiModem is an internal PCI bus wireless modem utilizing either CDMA or EDGE
technology. The MultiModem is an internal data/fax wireless modem. It also supports mobile
originated short message service (SMS) and mobile-terminated SMS. It offers standards-based
multi-band CDMA2000 1xRTT performance.
The MultiModem EDGE wireless modem delivers some of the fastest cellular wireless data speeds
by utilizing EDGE technology. It allows users to connect to the Internet and send and receive data
up to three times faster than possible with an ordinary GSM/GPRS network, making it ideal for
highly data-intensive multimedia applications. Based on industry-standard open interfaces, the
MultiModem EDGE wireless modem is equipped with quad-band GSM, which means it can be used
worldwide on all existing GSM networks. It also supports mobile originated short message service
(SMS) and mobile-terminated SMS.
