 Seguire le istruzioni d'uso. Questo manuale contiene informazioni
importanti sul funzionamento e la sicurezza di questo dispositivo. Si
prega di leggere attentamente le istruzioni d'uso prima di utilizzare il
dispositivo e di conservarle per ogni futura consultazione.
 Questo dispositivo deve essere utilizzato solo per misurare la
temperatura corporea per via orale, rettale o ascellare. Non cercare
di misurare la temperatura in altre aree del corpo, come l'orecchio,
in quanto potrebbe causare false letture e lesioni.
 Non utilizzare questo dispositivo se si ritiene che sia danneggiato o
si notano anomalie.
 Per motivi di igiene, prima del primo utilizzo, si raccomanda di pulire
questo dispositivo seguendo le istruzioni di pulizia.
 Il tempo di misurazione minimo, fino al beep, deve essere sempre
rispettato senza eccezioni!
Occorre tenere in considerazione che aree di misurazione diverse
potrebbero richiedere di continuare la misurazione anche dopo il
segnale acustico, vedere la sezione «Tipi di misurazione / Tempera-
tura corporea normale».
 Non effettuare misurazioni rettali su persone con disturbi rettali.
Ciò potrebbe aggravare o peggiorare il disturbo.
 Assicurarsi che i bambini non utilizzino il dispositivo senza la super-
visione di un adulto. Alcune parti sono piccole e potrebbero essere
ingerite. Prestare attenzione al rischio di strangolamento in
presenza di cavi o tubi.
 Non usare il dispositivo vicino a forti campi elettromagnetici come
telefoni cellulari o installazioni radio. Mantenere una distanza
minima di 3,3 m da altri apparecchi quando si utilizza questo dispo-
sitivo.
 Proteggere lo strumento da urti e cadute!
 Evitare di piegare la sonda del termometro oltre 45 °!
 Evitare temperature ambientali superiori ai 60°C: NON IMMER-
GERE lo strumento in acqua bollente!
 Per evitare danni al dispositivo durante la pulizia, utilizzare solo i
disinfettanti in commercio elencati nella sezione «Pulizia e disinfe-
zione».
 Si consiglia di fare verificare la precisione di questo dispositivo ogni
due anni o dopo che ha subito un impatto (ad es. caduta). Si prega
di contattare il servizio di assistenza Microlife per programmare il
test.
ATTENZIONE: la misurazione ottenuta con questo disposi-
tivo non rappresenta una diagnosi! Non fare affidamento solo
sulla misurazione.
Le batterie e gli strumenti elettronici devono essere smaltiti
in conformità alle disposizioni locali e non con i rifiuti dome-
stici.
Leggere attentamente le istruzioni prima di usare questo
dispositivo.

Accensione del termometro
Per accendere il termometro, premere il pulsante ON/OFF 1; un
breve segnale acustico, beep, indica che il «termometro è acceso».
Viene eseguito un test del display. Tutte le icone devono apparire sul
display.
L'ultima misurazione verrà visualizzata sul display 2 automatica-
mente per 2 secondi con l'icona «M» (memoria).
Quando la temperatura ambiente è inferiore a 32 °C comparirà sul
display 2 «L» e in alto a destra una «°C» lampeggerà. Il termometro
è ora pronto per l'uso.
Autotest di funzionamento
Il regolare funzionamento del termometro viene controllato ogni volta
che si accende. Se nell'autotest di funzionamento viene individuata
una disfunzione (inesattezza della misurazione), comparirà «ERR»
sul display e non sarà possibile procedere alla misurazione. In questo
caso, il termometro deve essere sostituito.
Uso del termometro
Selezionare il tipo di misurazione. Quando si effettua una misurazione
la temperatura rilevata viene continuamente visualizzata ed il simbolo
«°C» lampeggia. Se si sente un segnale acustico per 10 volte ed il
simbolo «°C» smette di lampeggiare significa che la rilevazione della
temperatura è terminata e il termometro è pronto per la lettura.
10 brevi segnali acustici (beep) ed il display retroilluminato di colore
rosso avviseranno il paziente che la temperatura misurata è uguale o
maggiore di 37.5 °C: allarme febbre. Riferimento: temperatura orale.
Per avere risultati comparabili attendere almeno 1 minuto tra una
misurazione e l'altra.
Per prolungare la durata della batteria, spegnere il termometro dopo
l'uso premendo brevemente il tasto ON/OFF 1. In ogni caso il termo-
metro si spegnerà automaticamente dopo circa 10 minuti.
Tipi di misurazione / Temperatura corporea normale
 Ascellare / 34.7 - 37.3 °C
Asciugare l'ascella utilizzando un asciugamano asciutto. Posizio-
nare il sensore di misurazione 4 sotto il braccio, al centro
dell'ascella, in modo che sia a contatto con la pelle e tenere il braccio
vicino al corpo. In questo modo la temperatura ambientale non
influirà sulla misurazione. La misurazione ascellare richiede più
tempo per raggiungere una temperatura stabile; si raccomanda
quindi di mantenere il termometro sotto l'ascella per almeno 5
minuti dopo il segnale acustico.
 Orale / 35.5 - 37.5 °C
Non mangiare o bere qualcosa di caldo o freddo 10 minuti prima
della misurazione. La bocca dovrà rimanere chiusa per 2 minuti
prima di iniziare la misurazione.
Introdurre il termometro in una delle due sacche, a sinistra o a
destra, accanto alla radice della lingua. Il sensore del termometro 4
deve essere bene in contatto con il tessuto. Chiudere la bocca e
respirare solo dal naso per non alterare la misurazione.
Se non fosse possibile, a causa delle vie aeree costipate, utilizzare
un altro metodo di misurazione.
Tempo di misurazione approssimativo: 10 secondi!
 Rettale / 36.6 - 38.0 °C
Introdurre con precauzione il sensore del termometro 4 nell'ano
sino a un massimo di 2-3 cm.
Si raccomanda l'uso di copri sonda e di un lubrificante.
Se non si conosce questo metodo di misurazione, prima dell'utilizzo
si consiglia di consultare un operatore sanitario per assistenza/aiuto.
Tempo di misurazione approssimativo: 10 secondi!

Pulizia e disinfezione
Per disinfettare il termometro a casa, utilizzare un tampone con alcool
isopropilico al 70% o un fazzoletto di cotone inumidito con alcool
isopropilico al 70% per rimuovere lo sporco dalla superficie della
sonda del termometro (nota: considerare l'applicazione e le istruzioni
di sicurezza del produttore del disinfettante). Iniziare sempre a pulire
il termometro partendo dalla fine della sonda (circa al centro del
termometro) verso la punta del termometro. Successivamente l'intera
sonda del termometro (numero 5 nel disegno) deve essere immersa
in alcool isopropilico al 70% per almeno 5 minuti (max. 24 ore). Dopo
l'immersione, lasciare asciugare il disinfettante per 1 minuto prima del
prossimo utilizzo. Evitare di immergere o pulire il display per proteg-
gerlo dallo sbiadimento.
Il termometro non è destinato all'uso professionale.
Sostituzione delle batterie
Quando appare il simbolo «» (triangolo capovolto) sulla destra del
display, la batteria è esaurita e deve essere sostituita. Aprire il coper-
chio del vano batteria 3 e inserire la nuova batteria con la polarità
«+» rivolta verso l'alto. Assicurarsi che la nuova batteria sia dello
stesso tipo. La batteria può essere acquistata in qualsiasi negozio di
materiale elettrico.

Important Safety Instructions
 Follow instructions for use. This document provides important
product operation and safety information regarding this device.
Please read this document thoroughly before using the device and
keep for future reference.
 This device is only to be used for measuring human body tempera-
ture through oral, rectal or axillary. Do not attempt to take tempera-
tures at other sites, such as in the ear, as it may result in false read-
ings and may lead to injury.
 Do not use this device if you think it is damaged or notice anything
unusual.
 We recommend cleaning this device according to the cleaning
instructions before first use for personal hygiene.
 The minimum measurement time until the beep is heard must be
maintained without exception!
Consider that different measurement locations may require
continued measuring even after the beep, see section «Measuring
methods / Normal body temperature».
 Do not attempt rectal measurements on persons with rectal disor-
ders. Doing so may aggravate or worsen the disorder.
 Ensure that children do not use this device unsupervised; some
parts are small enough to be swallowed. Be aware of the risk of
strangulation in case this device is supplied with cables or tubes.
 Do not use this device close to strong electromagnetic fields such as
mobile telephones or radio installations. Keep a minimum distance
of 3.3 m from such devices when using this device.
 Protect the device from impact and dropping!
 Avoid bending the thermometer probe more than 45°!
 Avoid ambient temperatures above 60 °C. NEVER boil this device!
 Use only the commercial disinfectants listed in the section «Cleaning
and Disinfecting» to clean the device to avoid damage to the device.
 We recommend this device is tested for accuracy every two years or
after mechanical impact (e.g. being dropped). Please contact your
local Microlife-Service to arrange the test.
WARNING: The measurement result given by this device is
not a diagnosis! Do not rely on the measurement result only.
Batteries and electronic devices must be disposed of in
accordance with the locally applicable regulations, not with
domestic waste.
Read the instructions carefully before using this device.
Type BF applied part
Turning on the Thermometer
To turn on the thermometer, press the ON/OFF button 1; a short
beep signals «thermometer ON». A display test is performed. All
segments should be displayed.
The last measurement reading will be shown on the display 2 auto-
matically for 2 seconds with the «M» icon.
Then at an ambient temperature of less than 32 °C, an «L» and a
flashing «°C» appear at the display field 2. The thermometer is now
ready for use.
Function Test
Correct functioning of the thermometer is tested automatically each
time it is turned on. If a malfunction is detected (measurement inaccu-
racy), this is indicated by «ERR» on the display, and a measurement
becomes impossible. In this case, the thermometer must be replaced.
Using the Thermometer
Choose the preferred measuring method. When taking a measure-
ment, the current temperature is continuously displayed and the «°C»
symbol flashes. If the beep is heard 10 times and the «°C» is no longer
flashing, the predictive end-temperature has been determined and the
thermometer can be read now.
10 short beeps will sound when the temperature is higher than 37.5 °C
in order to alert the patient that he/she may have fever. Reference:
Oral temperature.
To achieve comparable results allow a 1 minute interval time between
measurements.
To prolong the battery life, turn off the thermometer by briefly pressing
the ON/OFF button 1. Otherwise the thermometer will automatically
turn off after about 10 minutes.
Measuring methods / Normal body temperature
 In the armpit (axillary) / 34.7 - 37.3 °C
Wipe the underarm with a dry towel. Place the measuring sensor 4
under the arm into the center of the armpit so the tip is touching the
skin and position the patient's arm next to the patient's body. This
ensures that the room air does not affect the reading. Because the
axillary takes more time to reach its stable temperature wait at least
5 minutes, regardless of the beep sound.
 In the mouth (oral) / 35.5 - 37.5 °C
Do not eat or drink anything hot or cold 10 minutes before the
measurement. The mouth should remain closed up to 2 minutes
before starting a reading.
Position the thermometer in one of the two pockets under the
tongue, to the left or right of the root of the tongue. The measuring
sensor 4 must be in good contact with the tissue. Close your mouth
and breathe evenly through the nose to prevent the measurement
from being influenced by inhaled/exhaled air.
If this is not possible due to blocked airways, another method for
measuring should be used.
Approx. measuring time: 10 seconds!
 In the anus (rectal) / 36.6 - 38.0 °C
Carefully insert the measuring sensor 4 of the thermometer 2 to
3 cm into the anal aperture.
The use of a probe cover and the use of a lubricant is recommended.
If you are unsure of this measurement method, you should consult a
professional for guidance/training.
Approx. measuring time: 10 seconds!
Cleaning and Disinfecting
For disinfection in home use environment, use a 70% Isopropyl
alcohol swab, or a cotton tissue moistened with 70% Isopropyl alcohol
to wipe surface pollutants off the thermometer probe (note: consider
the application and safety instruction of the disinfectant manufacturer).
Always start wiping from the end of the thermometer probe (approx. at
the middle of the thermometer) towards the thermometer tip. After-
wards the entire thermometer probe (see number 5 in the drawing)
should be immersed in 70% Isopropyl alcohol for at least 5 minutes
(max. 24 hours). After immersion, let the disinfectant dry off for 1
minute before next use. Avoid immersing or wiping the display to
protect it from fading.
The thermometer is not intended for professional use.
Battery Replacement
When the «» symbol (upside-down triangle) appears in the display,
the battery is flat and needs replacing. To replace the battery remove
the battery compartment cover 3 from the thermometer. Insert the
new battery with the + at the top. Make sure you have a battery of the
same type to hand. Batteries can be purchased at any electrical store.
