    Introduction Overview The AMX AXP–CPI Custom Panel Interface is used in combination with the AMX AXCESS card system as an interface to custom control panels. Contact closures sensed by the AXCESS system are converted into signals to turn on the control panel lamps.

  • Page 7 Device Number — an identification number used by the AXCESS system. The 8-position SIP switch (Figure 3) defines the AXP-CPI as an AXlink device. They can be one of 255 devices in the AXCESS Control System. Set the device number with the total value of all ON (down) positions. As an example, the SIP switch below defines device number 129 (1+128=129).

    Figure 5 shows the basic configuration of switches and LEDs connected to the AXP–CPI. Pin 2 of the captive-wire connector is the positive voltage (plus) terminal. Be sure to observe polarity.
