114 Seats and stowing
If you no longer require the folded-down rear seat
backrest as a load area, fold the backrest back
into place.
Make sure that the red marking of the lock verifi-
cation indicator is no longer visible. Otherwise,
the seat backrest is not locked.
Folding the rear seats forwards mechanically
* NOTE Damage to the headliner when the
rear seat backrests are folded forwards
and backwards
The headliner could be damaged when the
seat backrests are folded forwards and back-
wards.
Before you fold the seat backrests for-

wards and backwards, insert the head
restraints.
Press the seat belt tongue of seat belt
#
marked position 2.
1 into Move the driver's or front passenger seat for-

wards, if necessary.
To fold the left and right seat backrests for-
#
wards: insert the head restraints for the seat
backrests ( page 101).
