4.6 Exhaust-gas measurement
After the warm-up phase, the exhaust-gas measuring instrument
is automatically set to measurement mode or it is switched from
pause mode to measurement mode by pressing the pump key p (3).
If necessary, zero adjustment is carried out. This is preceded by
the exhaust-gas measuring instrument being flushed with zero
gas for 30 seconds.

This is followed by zero adjustment.

The instantaneous measured values of the ambient air are then
displayed.

If in measurement mode no exhaust-gas values are measured
within a period of 5 minutes (HC < 30 ppm, CO < 0.05 vol. %)
or the pump key p (3) pressed, the instrument automatically
switches to pause mode.
– Insert the sampling probe (19) into the tail pipe or into the
collecting pipe fitted as far as it will go and attach it to the tail
pipe with the clamping device.
The instantaneous measured values of the exhaust gas are then
displayed.

i The engine speed and oil temperature are only displayed on
the ETT 6.22 exhaust-gas measuring instrument.
i You set the number of pulses in the user menu (see section 5.2).
To print out a report, press
– the E key (5).

i If you press the E key (5) twice in quick succession, the
report is printed out without a header (name of the testing
station).
– End measurement and flush the instrument by pressing the
pump p key (3).
