3.3 Operation

3.3.1 Warm-up phase
The warm-up phase of the instrument lasts for up to approx. 6 min.
depending on the state of the instrument. During this time, no
measurements are possible.
3.3.2 Drift correction
If necessary due to a change in the ambient parameters, the
instrument automatically carries out zero adjustment.
Automatic zero adjustment is also performed if the instrument has
been in standby mode (PAU5E) for longer than 3 minutes.
3.3.3 Zero adjustment
To carry out zero adjustment, the measuring instrument switches
a solenoid-operated valve over to ambient air. The instrument is
flushed with zero gas for 30 seconds. After this time, zero
adjustment is performed.

3.4 Putting into operation for the first time

Danger of tripping!
The sampling hose must be run in such a way that no-
one can trip over it.
! Installation height: min. 250 mm
Length of the drain hose: min. 300 mm
i Only in this way can it be guaranteed that the condensate
flows off continuously, measuring accuracy is maintained and
the measuring system is adequately protected against
contamination.
For the connection diagram, see fig. 2.
– Connect the exhaust-gas probe (19) to the sampled-gas inlet
(11) via the 30-cm sampling hose, the filter GF1 (18) and the
5.7-m sampling hose (17).
! Connect the 70-cm long PVC hose to the condensate outlet
(22). Run the hose into an open collector for condensate.
