Onboard and External Buttons

These onboard buttons include Reset CMOS, BIOS Update, RESET and
POWER buttons.
Reset CMOS Button
The motherboard uses CMOS RAM
to store your BIOS configuration.
Press the Reset CMOS button shown
on the right to reset the BIOS back to defaults.
Use the Reset CMOS button to clear the BIOS before and after updating the
BIOS, and as a troubleshooting option when the motherboard fails to POST
(e.g. after installing new hardware, testing an unstable overclock, etc.).
BIOS Update Button
The BIOS Update button is an alternative option to update your motherboard
BIOS, in case you cannot update from within the BIOS or within Windows.
This option is convenient when you must update your BIOS for compatibility
prior to installing a new CPU. See Page 102 for more details.
RESET and POWER Button
These buttons allow you to easily turn on/off the system. These buttons allow
for easy debugging and testing of the system during troubleshooting situations.
The POWER button has an integrated LED,
indicating the system's status. When the system
is powered on, the LED remains a solid red.
The RESET button has an integrated LED,
indicating the activity status of the hard disk
drives and will flicker accordingly.
