When disconnecting any parts of this machine be extremely careful that all parts are clean to prevent entrance of dirt in the hydraulic system. Insufficient oil: This is not a likely to be the issue on a tire press but if the press will only make a fraction of its rated stroke and no more, check the oil level in the reservoir.
