Main scale : Brix
Brix represents the weight of sucrose in 100 grams of sucrose
solution as percentage by weight. When other dissolved solids
are present in the solution, Brix conversion may be applied.
Brix is a measure of the total dissolved solids in a solution and
indicates the combined concentration of all soluble substances,
such as sugar, salt, protein, and acids.
Automatic Temperature Compensation
The readings are corrected, based on the temperature of the prism, within the automatic temperature compensation range.
【Caution】
◇ Measurements may fluctuate with hot or cold samples. Wait for approximately 20 seconds to press the START button.
Measurements will stabilize once the instrument acclimates to the sample temperature.

Store the instrument in a dry place away from
direct sunlight. Exposure to humidity and heat
may damage the instrument.

Secondary scale : Refractive Index
The displayed Refractive Index value is not compensated for
temperature. The measured value is the Refractive Index at the
displayed measurement temperature. Changes in temperature
directly affect the Refractive Index of any sample (even for the
same sample at the same concentration level).
Clean and dry the sample stage thoroughly,
following the "Cleaning" instructions.
Store the unit away from direct sunlight at a
stable temperature with as little fluctuation as
possible.

Do you have a question about the PAL-BX/RI and is the answer not in the manual?
Questions and answers
how to convert brix percentage to solution concentration percentage
To convert Brix percentage to solution concentration percentage using the ATAGO PAL-BX/RI, note that Brix represents the percentage by weight of sucrose in a solution. If only sucrose is present, the Brix percentage is equal to the concentration percentage. However, if other dissolved solids are present (e.g., salt, acids, proteins), the Brix value is an estimate of total dissolved solids and may not directly equal the actual concentration percentage. In such cases, a specific conversion may be required depending on the composition of the solution.
