Battery precautions

  1. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
  2. Use only alkaline AA batteries of the same or equivalent type.
  3. Insert batteries with the correct polarity
  4. Keep batteries away from children.
  5. Dispose of exhausted batteries according to local legal requirements. Do not dispose them by throwing away with normal household rubbish.
  6. Avoid short circuiting the contacts in the battery compartment and battery terminals.
  7. Remove batteries from the unit if it will not be used for a long period of time.
  8. Exhausted batteries should be removed from the battery compartment to prevent over-discharging, which can cause leakage and may cause damage to the clock.

Battery installation

  • Insert 1 X AA (1.5V) battery observing the correct polarity, as shown on the diagram.
  • Replace battery cover.

Radio controlled operation DCF version (Germany & European countries)

The Braun Quadrondo is set and controlled automatically by DCF radio signal. The DCF radio time code signal is broadcast from Frankfurt, Germany, the coverage of the DCF signal is the whole of Germany. The time code signal can be received up to 1500km from Frankfurt. This covers most of Central and Western Europe.

Radio controlled clock operation

Once the battery is inserted within three minutes the hour and minute hand will move to one of the three stand by positions at 4:00, 8:00 or 12:00 o'clock depending on which is the closest to the actual hands position.

After the hands have reached this position the clock will search for the Radio Controlled signal. If the signal is strong in your area, within 10 minutes the clock will be set to the correct time. The hour and minute hands will move to the actual time position.

Please note that the hands will not move until successful signal is received.

A time check is carried out each even hour and additionally at 3 o'clock am and time is compared with the radio signal and will be corrected if necessary.

Manual time setting DCF version (Germany & European countries)

The clock has an optional facility to set the time manually when the Radio Control Signal is not broadcasting. Press and hold the TIME SET button to set the clock to a desired time.


The clock has an option to set manually to your desired time. Press and hold the TIME SET button to set the clock to a desired time.

  • Once a desired time is set manually the clock will correct itself to a Radio Controlled time once a valid signal is received.

Alarm setting

To set alarm follow below procedures:

  • Press the ALARM SET button located at the back of the clock, the rotating switch will pull outwards.
  • Turn the button anti-clockwise to set the alarm time and push the button back into the position.
  • Press the ALARM TAB located on the top to activate the alarm, green bar will be shown at the front.

Alarm/snooze function

When the alarm time is reached a buzzer will sound together with backlight (5 seconds only). The alarm will sound for 2 minutes if no buttons are pressed. Press the alarm tab on the front to stop the alarm. The SNOOZE/LIGHT button is located at the bottom of the clock housing and can be activated when pressing on the clock body downwards. To activate the snooze function again press the clock body downwards and the alarm sound will stop and resumes after approx 4 minutes interval.

Reset function

The clock has a hands setting help function. By pressing the reset button at any time, the hands will automatically move to the 12 o'clock position. The motor will then stop and at this point the battery must be removed. Please then wait at least 1 minute before reinserting the battery to start reception.

Backlight function

During normal time, press clock body downwards to activate backlight.
Note: While the clock is receiving Radio Control Signal backlight will not function. Pressing the backlight button during this time can cause interference with Radio Control reception.

Guarantee

2 year guarantee against material and workmanship defects (except battery). The guarantee is valid in those countries where the alarm clock is officially being sold.

Broken or cracked lens screens are not covered under the guarantee.
