Parking Guidance
Parking Guidance is an electronic parking
aid with a radar sensor system. It meas-
ures the road space on both sides of your
vehicle by means of the radar sensor sys-
tem. An appropriate parking space is indi-
cated and steering instructions given to
park in this space.

G
Risk of accident
Parking Guidance is only an aid and may in-
dicate parking spaces which are inappropri-
ate, e.g. where parking is forbidden, in front
of driveways, on unsuitable surfaces etc.
Parking Guidance displays the parking
space symbolically in the instrument cluster
as it was when the parking space was initial-
ly measured when the vehicle drove past it.
Subsequent changes to the parking space
are not taken into account, e.g. if the vehicle
parking in front of or behind it changes its
position or obstacles are moved into the
parking space. Moving objects are not dis-
played, e.g. pedestrians or passing vehicles.
Parking Guidance does not relieve you of
your responsibility to pay attention. You may
cause an accident or injure yourself or oth-
ers if you rely purely on Parking Guidance.
You are always responsible for safety and
must pay attention to your immediate sur-
roundings when parking and manoeuvring.
G
Risk of injury
Make sure that no persons or animals are
in the manoeuvring range. Otherwise, they
could be injured.
!
You must deactivate the radar sensor sys-
tem in certain countries and near radio astro-
nomical installations. Further information can be
found in the index under "Radar sensor system –
switching on/off".
Use Parking Guidance for parking spaces
which are:
parallel to the direction of travel
on straight roads, i.e. not on corners
on the same level as the road, i.e. not
on pavements, for instance. Flat kerbs
may not be identified by Parking Guid-
ance.
