AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Single Speed Automatic

Transmission

WARNING
Always set the parking brake fully
and make sure you move the
transmission selector lever to P.
Switch the ignition off and remove the key
whenever you leave your vehicle.
The single speed transmission is built
specifically to handle the high rotational
speed range of an electric motor.

P
Park
R
Reverse
N
Neutral
D
Drive
L
Low
WARNING
Apply the brakes before moving the
transmission selector lever and keep
them applied until you are ready to
move off.

Transmission
Press the button on the transmission
selector lever to change to each position.
The transmission selector lever position
will be shown in the information display.
P (Park)
Move the transmission selector lever
to P only when your vehicle is
stationary.
Apply the parking brake and move
the transmission selector lever to P
before leaving your vehicle. Make
sure that the transmission selector lever is
latched in position.
In this position, power is not transmitted
to the drive wheels and the transmission
is locked. You can start the electric motor
with the transmission selector lever in this
position.
Note: An audible warning will sound if you
open the driver door and you have not
moved the transmission selector lever to P.
R (Reverse)
Move the transmission selector lever
to R only when your vehicle is
stationary.
Always come to a complete stop
before shifting the transmission
selector lever out of R.
Move the transmission selector lever to R
to allow your vehicle to move backward.
N (Neutral)
In this position, power is not transmitted
to the drive wheels but the transmission is
not locked. You can start the electric motor
with the transmission selector lever in this
position.
