    400 mm (15.7 in.) 200 mm (7.9 in.) 700 mm (27.5 in.) Select a location for your printer. • Leave enough room to open the printer trays, covers, doors, and options. It is also important to allow space around the printer for proper ventilation.

    Once you have selected a location and set up any optional drawers, you are ready to position the printer. Have someone help you lift the printer using the handholds on the sides of the printer. Place the printer in the location you have chosen.

    250-sheet trays. Do not exceed the recommended capacity (see page 15). Follow these instructions to load paper that is long-edge fed into the printer. Remove the tray, and then set it on a flat surface. Remove the tray cover.

    Reinstalling the system board access panel Install memory, firmware, or option cards Follow these instructions to reinstall the printer system board access cover and panel. Insert the metal tab on the bottom of the access panel behind the printer frame, and then secure the panel with the screws.

    The Option Added label alerts service personnel that an option has been installed. Follow these instructions to apply the Option Added label: Remove the backing from the Option Added label. Place the label next to the printer model and serial number label.

    A 10BaseT/100BaseTX Fast Ethernet port is standard on the Lexmark W812n. Attach cables The printer can be attached to a network or locally (directly to a computer). You can attach your printer to a network using standard network cables. To attach the printer to a network: Make sure the printer is turned off and unplugged.

    Connect the printer to the computer using a USB, parallel, or serial cable. • A USB port requires a USB cable such as Lexmark part number 12A2405 (2 m [6.5 ft]). Be sure to match the USB symbol on the cable to the USB symbol on the printer.
