Applications

Use the Applications settings to view details about the applications installed on your tablet, to manage
their data, to force them to stop if they do not function correctly, and to set whether you want to permit the
installation of applications that you obtain from Web sites and e-mail.
To enable a setting, touch the setting item to select the check box. When a setting is enabled, a green check
is displayed in the check box. To disable a setting, touch the setting item to clear the check box. If other
actions are required, follow the instruction on the screen.
The following table lists the settings that you can configure through the Applications menu.

Description
Encrypt your accounts, settings, downloaded applications, and so
on. After you encrypt your tablet, you have to type a password or
PIN to decrypt it each time you turn it on.
Encrypt the data on the installed flash media card. Once encrypted,
it requires a password or PIN to decrypt your flash media card if
the card is used on other tablets.
Note: This option is only available for the WAN-supported models.
Configure the tablet to require entering the SIM PIN to use the tablet.
Enable to show the password as you type.
Activate an application to be a device administrator for your tablet.
Then, your IT personnel are able to perform some administrative
tasks on your tablet through the application.
Enable to allow applications to access your tablet's encrypted store
of secure certificates and related passwords and other credentials.
Install a secure certificate from the flash media card installed on
the tablet.
Set or change the password for your secure credential storage.
Delete all secure certificates and related credentials and erase the
credential storage password.
Description
Open a list of the applications installed on the tablet to check the
application information or remove the application.
Open a list of applications, processes, and services that are currently
running.
To stop a service, touch the service, and then touch Stop at the
confirmation prompt.
View the information about the storage used by each application.
View which applications are using the battery power since you last
charged your tablet.
Enable to allow the installation of applications from sources other than
Android Market.
Note: This option must be enabled to allow installation of applications
from Lenovo App Shop.
