Submersible Sump Pumps
Description
This Submersible Sump Pump is designed for home use in draining flooded
excavations, construction sites, and basements. The 115V, 60 Hz, shaded-pole
motors have automatic overload protection, and are oil filled and sealed for cooler
running. Bearings on motor shaft never need lubrication. Model Numbers 4RJ19
and 4RJ21 are manually controlled. Model Numbers 4RJ20, 4RJ22, and 4RJ23 are
equipped with an automatic tethered float switch. Unit is equipped with either an
8, 20, or 25 ft., 3-prong grounding-type power cord. See "Specifications," below.
Models have cast iron construction with a bottom inlet screen. Model 4RJ23 has a
fiberglass reinforced polypropylene base. Model 4RJ19 includes a garden hose
adapter. Models 4RJ19 and 4RJ20 have a Noryl impeller. Models 4RJ21, 4RJ22 and
4RJ23 have a fiberglass reinforced polypropylene impeller. These pumps are for
use with nonflammable liquids compatible with construction materials only.
Unpacking and Inspection
Handle with care. Check items received
against packing list to be sure that all
equipment has been received. Inspect
for shipping damage. If found, file
claim with carrier immediately.

Electrically powered sump pumps
normally give many years of trouble-
free service when correctly installed,
maintained, and used. However,
unusual circumstances (interruption of
power to the pump, dirt/debris in the
sump, flooding that exceeds the
pump's capacity, electrical or
mechanical failure in the pump, etc.)
may prevent your pump from
functioning normally. To prevent
possible water damage due to
flooding, consult your dealer about
installing a secondary sump pump, a
DC backup sump pump, and/or a high
water alarm. See the "Troubleshooting
